Imagine That You Already Have What You Want
We all get overwhelmed when we start a new project. We doubt whether it’ll go well, whether we’re worth enough, whether we’ll disappoint the people who are important to us. We imagine questions like these, and they take power over us.
All people have fears, but brave people limit their influence. Imagine what you want in your life, and from now on, fight to achieve it.
Attract positivity, and don’t stop dreaming
Before you take a step towards the future, imagine what you want there to be in it. It doesn’t matter how much time it takes to realize your dreams; all that matters is fighting to make them reality. However difficult or impossible it might seem, it’s worth a shot. In fact, many actors, athletes, scientists, and other people you might admire have surely thought the same at some point in their lives.
“Hope can’t be eaten,” she said.
“It can’t be eaten, but it can nourish,” replied the colonel.
-Gabriel García Márquez-
These individuals also started with nothing and applied the best of themselves to achieve their goals. But before having goals, they imagined them. Of course, it isn’t easy to achieve success, but it’s necessary to throw away your worries.
Dream big and try to achieve it with small steps. Be patient and ask for however much help you need, because those who love you will be proud to see you triumph. And if it’s not possible, they will value you even more for having overcome your doubts. Just think, if no one had imagined it, today we wouldn’t even have airplanes to transport us from one continent to another within hours.
When something goes wrong, get back up
When you imagine your ideal future, you’re rarely aware of how long the path will be. And on top of being long, it’s probably also full of obstacles. However, there’s no better way to discover this than starting to walk along it and enjoying every lesson you learn on the way. Imagine, and then create.
We all know that “nobody said it was easy,” and as a matter of fact, few things are easy to achieve in this world. Lessons also serve to make us stronger and value our own effort. This may be a greater source of pride than actually achieving the goal.
“We can throw stones, complain about them, stumble on them, climb over them, or build with them.”
-William Arthur Ward-
Don’t give up, and fight with all your strength. If you imagine your dream clearly, it will be easier for you to take steps towards it, even though sometimes you have to deviate a little from the path. Ultimately, these are the things that put your talent to the test. You must be able to wisely determine how much you are willing to risk for what you want.
Bring your imagination to life
Now you’re ready; you have the awareness and strength of will. The next step is to make a plan. Take the time you need to develop it with care and hope. Your mindset matters, so if you imagine your goals from the start, your actions will mold around them. Enjoy the journey and the people it brings to you, without forgetting the power of imagination over your actions and the results.
From there, dream and take a step forward, even if it’s the thing that scares you most in the world, because the moment you overcome it, you’ll feel proud and you’ll even laugh at your past self, who was afraid to take that step.
“Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.”
-Ella Fitzgerald-
You’re already one step closer to what you’ve imagined; the key is in following the path and looking ahead. When you least expect it, you won’t have to think about it, because you’ll be living it. This is your life, which you’ve chased after with so much effort.
