Whatever You Do, Do It with Passion
If you love something do it with passion. If you work, make sure it’s in something you’re passionate about, if you paint, if you dance, if you write, do it with passion, if you do sport do it with all your passion. Don’t forget that your passion is the energy o f your life, and that everything you do with passion will make you feel fulfilled and happy.
During our lives we tend to do many things out of obligation, out of fear of other people’s opinions, and these are things that don’t motivate us or that we just do not like. But what happens when you do something that you are really passionate about? To do something that we love motivates us, excites us, makes us smile and fills us with energy, and so therefore: why don’t you seek what you really are passionate about?
“Nothing great has been done in the world without a great passion”
-Friedrich Hegel-
Find a job you are passionate about
One of the fundamental questions about work is: is this the job that I really want to have? If on Sunday afternoon you feel anxious because on Monday you have go to work, then you probably are not working in the right place.
Work takes up a lot of our time, so it is important that we feel good about what we do, that we can feel that we bring something of value to a company and to ourselves at the same time. All the time we can hear coworkers, friends and family, even ourselves, complain about work, but very few dare to change what they have.
Keeping the same job, when we have the opportunity to change it is another way of being unfaithful to ourselves and to our happiness. We have to lose those fears that in most cases are unfounded. It is about living the best possible life and being the best version of ourselves.
“You have to make love to life, without drama, but with madness and passion.”
-Federico Moura-
An important factor when looking for and finding the job that we are passionate about is to manage our fears. Our dreams will be on the other side of what we fear, and so it is time to overcome fear and move on. Think about what you fear, externalize it, accept it and visualize the worst that could happen. This way you will have a much more realistic perspective.
Find people who are passionate about you
The first thing we can do to start changing something in a job we do not like or in some other aspect of our life that does not make us happy, is to start looking for and surrounding ourselves with passionate people, people who radiate their enthusiasm in our direction and who support us when we are thinking of changing things.
It is normal for people close to us not to understand that we want to change something in our lives, especially if this “something” provides us with good money at the end of the month. But we are talking about our lives, and the people who really love and value us will respect our desire to change, even if they do not understand it. They will even see it as something positive when they leave their scepticism behind and see the positive results.
Look for what makes you happy
What is it that really excites you, what makes your pulse race? That is the path you must follow. There is always something that makes our heart beat stronger and that draws a huge smile on our face.
When that happens, it is because we are doing what we are passionate about. Explore all the things you like, sign up for courses, talk to people who do what you love, read, study, learn and gradually you will see clearly what your dream is.
Learn to convey your passion
When we do what we are passionate about, we transmit our passion to other people, because the enthusiasm oozes through every pore of our skin. Our motivation will pour into any place we go to, or any group of people we spend time with.
At some point in your life you will find another person who wants to make a change in their life, but at the same time doesn’t want to take the risk. That will be the perfect opportunity to convey all your passion, so that another person will lose their fear of the future and walk safely towards their dreams.
“He who avoids a passion and its swirl of emotions will slowly die, those emotions that return the glow to the eyes and restore the broken hearts”
-Pablo Neruda-
