Learn to Believe in Yourself in 7 Steps

Believing in yourself is necessary to start on the journey that will lead you to find what you desire. There is no greater security or greater level of confidence than the one you show yourself. If you don’t take that step, if you don’t trust yourself, you’ll have nothing.
Some people believe that if they aren’t hired, listened to, applauded or trusted, it’s because they’re ashamed or because in the moment of truth they’re overcome by stage fright. But this is not the case. It’s a lack of confidence in yourself that’s causing that fear, that shame.
If you don’t believe in yourself, don’t expect anyone else to. Only if you believe in yourself will you be able to offer others something to believe in.
You need to believe in yourself
Confidence in oneself is a crucial thing. Think about all of the things you’ve stopped yourself from doing because you didn’t believe in yourself. How many opportunities have you let go by; how many paths have you not taken? Your doubt, fear, and complexes make you suffer through life instead of living it.
That’s why you need to believe in yourself. Because though others may believe in you, it won’t mean anything until you believe in yourself. It’s useless to be told how much you’re worth unless you believe it yourself. And for that, you have to reflect on and discover yourself. You have so much locked up inside of you.
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”-Eleanor Roosevelt-

Good news! It’s never too late to take the first step. It’s a complex learning process, but learning to believe in oneself is possible. Up next, we offer you some simple strategies that will help you with the task of learning to believe in yourself and starting to gain security and confidence. With them you’ll discover everything hiding within you.
1. Be aware that self-confidence can be learned
If you’re not aware that you can learn to trust yourself, you’ll never achieve it. It’s the same as when you’re learning a language. Would you start studying Chinese if you weren’t convinced you could do it? If you start learning something it’s because you’re confident that you can achieve it. If you don’t trust in it, you’ll never get it done. If you believe in yourself, you might not achieve it either, but at least you won’t deny yourself the opportunity of trying.
Self-confidence can be learned, don’t forget it. With a lot of effort and training you’ll be able to achieve it, you simply have to try. Remember that he who doesn’t risk, doesn’t win either. And there’s no sweeter victory than risking it all in order to grow as a person.
2. Confront your inner critic
We all have an inner voice that reminds us of our limitations, our fears, that repeats all of the criticism we harvested during childhood and adolescence. Confront that self-deprecating inner voice and reaffirm yourself. Remember that you make the decisions, not that voice that accumulates so many toxic experiences.
Our inner critic may be very severe due and be able to induce a lot of guilt, but you can also cope with it and be brave, remembering that it’s nothing more that a repeater of those messages from your childhood. Confront it and soften the inner voice inside you.
3. Turn your weaknesses into strengths
Turning your weakness into strengths demands a certain degree of creativity, but it’s possible. Moreover, if you turn your weaknesses into strengths you’ll probably encounter a new and incredible opportunity. Remember that every mistake, difficulty and obstacle we encounter can be great motors of opportunities and continuous lessons.
Analyze your weaknesses, explore your fears and change your attitude. That’s the only way you’ll free yourself from the ropes that keep your wings closed.

4. Discover your true potential
One of the reasons many people don’t believe in themselves is because they haven’t been able to explore their concerns and develop their passions, or they’ve done it without counting with the support or approval of others. Rid yourself of this limitation and explore your talents, discover where your true power lies.
Delve into the adventure of that which you always desired but haven’t done, of starting the idea that only made it to a rough draft or that plan you dreamt of but never got to enjoy. Discover your qualities, talents, lights and start expanding them.
5. Be your own coach
You don’t need anyone to cheer for you, raise your spirits or remind you that you can do it. A little help is always appreciated, but you should learn to be self-sufficient and emotionally independent. Everything you need to hear, you can say to yourself in front of the mirror.
Instead of verbally abusing yourself, start to treat yourself with love and hope. Love and motivate yourself. Send yourself positive and optimistic messages that will serve as reinforcement, because there is nothing better than knowing how to talk to yourself nicely. No more contempt and self-reproach; start empowering yourself.
6. In your mind, become the superhero you desire to be
Superhero, superstar…anything goes. Imagine that you’re what you wish to become, that you’ve achieved your goals, that you don’t carry all of the limitations that make it hard for you to achieve your dream. Don your superhero suit and you’ll become one, because you’ll act like one. You just have to believe.
Your attitude will make others change and will protect you from their limiting criticism. Will be filled with hope and goals. But remember that your superhero suit is not a costume, but a second skin. Make it your own, feel that it belongs to you and identify with it.
7. Empower yourself
Create a powerful vision of yourself. Have confidence in yourself and your abilities. True confidence in oneself comes from the development of a positive and empowered self-image. Sit, close your eyes, and feel your inner power. That fire that fills you with energy and which will allow you to reach your goals.
