Last update: 27 October, 2015

Do you have a dream, a goal or an objective, but you feel like your life is a disaster? Do you feel like you don’t have control over the things that happen around you? Does the term disorder  define your daily life? Being organized is a key to success, no matter how simple the task .

Being organized requires a lot of effort, especially if it’s not something that’s ingrained in your way of being. But it’s worth it. Notice the people who achieve what you want to achieve. What are their customs and habits? What do they do differently?

Below are some daily habits of organized people that you can incorporate into your life through a little effort and will:

1. Rise early

Discipline  is very important when you want to achieve your goals. Getting up early should be the first habit that you adopt if you want to get organized, because this will allow you to have the whole day ahead of you.

2. Make to-do lists

Organized people don’t leave things to chance, trust their memory to know what they have to do, or constantly get carried away by distractions. Organized people make lists of things they have to do, and further, they prioritize the items on those lists in order to make sure they can find the best time for everything.

Also, organized people group more tasks into less time and take advantage of their resources.

3. Eat well

One symptom of a disorganized life is a poor diet. Organized people plan what they’re going to eat shop intelligently, cook thoughtfully, plan their mealtimes and times to cook, and know that a good diet is vital for daily efficiency.

4. Take care of your body

Organized people are also conscious about taking care of their bodies, and they plan everything that has to do with exercise or with other activities involving personal health. They are able to follow through with their health and fitness plans because the rest of their day is organized as well.

5. Don’t procrastinate

Organized people follow through with what they have to do and don’t waste time on things that don’t support their daily chores. They don’t leave the things they have to do right now for later or for the next day.

Highly organized people don’t leave anything for later, which is exactly what makes them so productive.

6. Appreciate the value of time

This point is related to the previous one. For organized people, time is sacred. Their schedule is their secret weapon, and they show great appreciation both for their own time as well as other people’s. They also insist that others respect their time as well.

Organized people know that time management is key to productivity.

7. Keep things in order

Being orderly is not only a question of appearance. The habit of making everything orderly saves time and simplifies tasks. Also, organized people are capable of getting rid of everything that they don’t need without regrets, and they utilize space and form efficiently.

Organized people know that an orderly and functional environment in which there is nothing extra or missing is vital to create harmony and positivity in their environment.

8. Take (planned) breaks

Organized people know how to listen to their mind and body, and they know themselves well enough to know when they need to rest, so they plan their breaks.

Rest is vital, and your body will demand it from you. Knowing how to rest on time and planning it ahead, on top of making you more productive, will allow you to plan your day realistically, without having to move things around because you couldn’t finish them because you had to rest. This will avoid the accumulation of more stress.

9. Follow through

Organized people are aware of the importance of completing their tasks fully so that nothing left pending will interfere with the rest of the things they have to do, especially from one day to another.
