Just like in the story about the dinosaur, there are some people who are always there for you. They are our stars , those that point north when we can’t find our way. People with their own inner lights that guide us and remain by our side even when they have left.
They cover us when we are unprotected and are always willing to lend a hand when we need it most. They are our constants. If something goes wrong, we can always count on them for support and comfort.
“When he woke up, the dinosaur was still there.”
-Monterroso-
My source of support
Everyone needs sources of support to grip onto when they are stumbling. These sources are made up of our loved ones. They are the foundation that stabilizes us during our times of crisis, and they give us the strength to continue on our undertakings.
The strength of a sister, the unconditional love of a mate or the unbreakable support of a friend . These are enough to stabilize the shakes and trembles that we inevitably experience in life.
“Give me a source of support and I’ll move the world.”
-Archímedes-
Although we struggle and strive to deal with our everyday difficulties , sometimes the setbacks in our circumstances weaken us. Falling is inevitable, but these people make it much more simple to get back up and keep moving forward.
You can count on me
You need at least two people to form a relationship. The bonds we form with the people we love tend to be reciprocal. It’s not about a one-way path, but rather a round trip kind of route.
Thus, by undertaking this route, even though one chooses their own path, we can always find them by our side. And when they turn to look for us, we will always be there for them. Because, even though we may at times falter, we have promised to look for one another when in need.
We don’t need words
You don’t need to get tangled in infinite words and “I love you’s” in order to explain what your are feeling. Sometimes words are not necessary in order to let the other person know. A word, a gesture or a look are enough to make them understand how much they really mean to us.
If your laughs are more sonorous when you’re together, if it’s easy for you to detect when there is sadness or joy in their eyes, if simply a gesture is enough to understand them,. If you’re there when he comes looking for you and you’re there when they need you, you can consider yourself lucky to be the dinosaur in the tale that we all need.
