Courage Is Seeing Hope in the Darkness

Courage Is Seeing Hope in the Darkness

Last update: 20 February, 2018

Most of significant, amazing things that have happened in the world have been accomplished by people who had the courage to keep trying when other people thought there was no hope.

The bravery and faith that they had gave them confidence and security, making them even more determined to meet their goals.

Your desires can only become reality if you’re brave enough to pursue them. There will be thousands of obstacles regardless of which path you choose, but that’s no reason to give up.

The future belongs to those who have the courage to believe in themselves, but who also don’t lose faith in others. For these people, courage wins over fear, and so they dive into the unknown despite the risks.

Winston Churchill once said that “courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities because it has been said, it is the quality which guarantees all others.”

courage is walking into the unknown

Without courage, there is no future. You can’t just keep postponing things. The hope you find in the struggle shows you that crisis can wait, but life can’t.

Choose to walk your own path, and don’t be afraid of other people’s criticism. Above all, don’t let yourself be paralyzed by your own self-criticism.

Happiness comes from freedom, and freedom comes from courage

Nobody can be completely happy if they’re not completely free. True freedom lives in the mind, and you can only be free when you’re brave enough to choose to be.

The difference between freedom and dependence is not the absence of fear or the existence of confidence, but the courage to act regardless.

We all go through life wanting things. Like Paulo Coelho once said, there’s no desire  without the possibility of making it a reality. When we make our desires reality, that’s when we have freedom.

There’s no simple path to freedom. In fact, most people go through valleys of tears before they reach the top of the mountain of their desires.

But remember, success is not final and failure is not fatal. The way you view your problems will be determined by how much courage you have to keep going.

When we want freedom, we discover that it depends entirely on how brave we are.

Courage is what makes up true leaders

Courage is one characteristic that distinguishes a true leader, partly because their words and actions are always visible.

In fact, courage is absolutely indispensable if they want to be successful, happy, and motivated. Leaders aren’t braver than normal people, but they’re brave for five minutes more.

Courage is an ability, which means it can be learned. Leadership requires you to have it, because leaders must be brave enough to make decisions even when they’re unpopular.

When you find yourself in a position of responsibility, direction, or leadership, it’s essential that you believe in your abilities so that others will, too.

In order to change your life, you have to learn how to  lead yourself. In order to lead yourself, you have to be brave enough to accept yourself. You can’t feel comfortable in any situation if you don’t have your own self-approval.

One particular Richard Hamming quote perfectly sums up the power of courage in our lives: “once you get your courage up and believe that you can do important problems, then you can. If you don’t think you can, then you eliminate all possibility.

“Physical bravery is an animal instinct; moral bravery is much higher and truer courage.”
