Edith Sánchez has a degree in Journalism and Social Sciences. She has extensive experience as a writer, researcher and teacher. She has developed several cultural management projects related to reading and writing. She is also the author and co-author of several books.

About the author

Graduated in Journalism from the INPAHU Higher Education Foundation in Bogotá, Colombia (1990), she has a degree in Social Sciences from the “Francisco José de Caldas” District University of Bogotá (1990). She obtained a scholarship in Cultural Journalism granted by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia (1999).

Edith has been awarded a multitude of awards and recognitions for her management. Among them, the Week-Petrobras Journalism Award (2011) and Entrégate a Colombia-Servientrega (2012) stand out. She was also the winner of the National Internships in Literature of the Ministry of Culture (2009 and 2018), of the contest "Reading is my story" (2011), in the District Award "Ciudad de Bogotá" (2014), received an honorable mention in the National Chronicle and Testimony Contest of the Central University (2017) and received the National Chronicle Book Award (2010), among others.

She has extensive experience in the area of teaching, editing, and writing. She specializes in the production, analysis, and research of written texts. She is currently a researcher associated with the National Center for Historical Memory of Colombia.

Edith Sánchez is the author of the books “Un duro – Approaches to life” and “A river with a thousand arms”. She is co-author of the books "Humor captive", "Inventory of astonishments", "Community prints" and "Six stories to be told", among others.
