Travel While You Can!
You might think that travel is a way to escape from life, to give yourself time to disconnect and reflect. In reality, however, the need to travel reflects the desire to prevent life from escaping from us.
That is, when you go on a trip, the primary motivator is to stop feeling like your life is at a standstill. Traveling is liberating and enriching. As someone once said, traveling leaves you speechless at first, only for you to become a great storyteller later.
Collecting bus, boat, train, and plane tickets represents opening a door to things that are out of the ordinary, leaving your routine, and developing a sense of culture, knowledge, customs, and perspective.
If something good happens to you, travel to celebrate. If something bad happens to you, travel to forget. If nothing happens to you, travel to make something happen…
Keep a travel journal
Something that everyone should do at least once in their life is travel without planning, without having any intentions except wanting to feel things shift, to think on your feet, and to contemplate your reflection in the windows of a moving train.
Through walking along trails and plowing through seas, we can come to discover something obvious that we didn’t see before: everybody’s opinion about other places is wrong. We’re wrong to judge, to not move and see for ourselves, to evaluate with our eyes blindfolded.
Given that traveling is something that we usually put off, it’s a good idea to keep a journal in which we plan our routes and write down all the reasons that drive our desire to travel.
Once we take a trip, we’ll never forget the sensations or the emotional richness that came from it. Because opening our eyes to the wonders of the world involves enjoying its people, flora, and fauna; enriching our customs; and renewing our beliefs.
Travel is the healthiest way to exercise the mind and spirit
Every new place produces a universe of sensations that we feel from the moment we hope and plan to take a trip.
Travel is one of those things that you have to pay for, but that makes you richer. It’s fatal to prejudice, intolerance, and narrow-mindedness. It kills them almost explosively.
Because when you go on a trip, you realize that the best things in life aren’t things. You also become aware of your opportunities, enlighten your mind, and revitalize your ideas.
Travel is measured in friends, not in miles
Among all the wonderful things that travelling can offer us, one of the most fascinating opportunities is getting to know people, making friends, and feeling like we can easily develop emotional bonds with the people we meet along the way.
There’s also the option to travel completely by yourself, so that you can grow, listen to yourself, and be fulfilled. In any case, traveling is a way to love yourself, to nourish your friendship with yourself, to turn your dreams in to reality, and to find the answers you need.
Travel is enriching, without a doubt. Because those who live, see; but those who travel, see much more. Remember that even if a ship is safe in the harbor, that’s not what it was made for.
