Everything good in life makes your hair messy. Running on the beach messes your hair up, riding a roller coaster, making love, dancing, laughing loudly, riding a bike, kissing the person you love…it all messes up your hair.

Have you ever noticed the expression of most of the people you see walking down the street? The ones whose hair you’d like to brush and comb through? Surely they haven’t let life mess their hair up yet, surely they haven’t stopped to think that this day will never repeat itself and that you have to enjoy every single minute and squeeze absolutely all of the juice out of life.

Decide to let your hair get messy

I don’t want to be a flawless woman, with perfectly combed hair, walking perfectly upright, who is always serious, who exercises regularly, who sets a diet regimen for herself in order to be thinner, who’s always on time, who always says what’s expected of her and does what she’s supposed to. I have decided to order myself to be happy and live the type of life that leaves you with messy hair.

Fall in love

When was the last time you let yourself go with the flow? Maybe it’s been much too long and the time has come to rid yourself of the prejudice that limits you in order to live every moment intensely.

If you like someone, tell them. If you want to kiss that person you like so much, kiss them. If you need to say “I love you,” say it. Nobody can control who they fall in love with and loving someone is always a risk. Be brave and experience what you wish to experience.

Cry with or without a reason

If a leaf falls from a tree and a few tears emerge from your eyes, just let them fall. If you get excited in front of someone, express your feelings. You can cry out of happiness or sorrow. Nobody can set limits to your tears. Let them out and be yourself.

Sing and dance like nobody’s watching

If you hear one of your favorite songs and want to sing, do it. Let your hair fly, let the music make it messy. Dance and sing like nobody is watching. It doesn’t matter if you do it well or badly, it’s just you simply enjoying your life and your song. It’s the melody of your life that’s playing.

Kiss with passion

Kiss with your whole body, with all of your heart. Feel how the emotion of a kiss floods your heart. Mess up your hair with your kisses, and let them leave it messy. Feel your lips, as they slide to the edge of a kiss that’s yours, that you give with all of your passion.

Hug with your entire soul

Give hugs with your entire soul. Feel the strength of your arms as they surround the other person and lean on their shoulder. Feel how they protect you with that hug, which is heat, which is life. It doesn’t matter the time or the place. Hug when your heart tells you to.

Feel your emotions

Sometimes you’ll feel rage, others you’ll feel fear, joy, sadness, hope…The important thing is that you learn to feel these emotions, to listen to what your soul is telling you, to understand and be at peace with yourself. Expressing what you feel shouldn’t embarrass you. It implies freeing what you are, letting out everything within you. It doesn’t matter if you feel vulnerable. Getting excited is a brave thing. It implies daring to open your soul to others and to ourselves.

And if life makes your hair messy…

If after every hug, each kiss, every song, you look in the mirror, you’ll see a messy-haired woman with a smile full of hope for life, for that life that she makes herself. If life makes your hair messy, you’ll know that you’ve lived, that you’ve been very happy.
