Are You Really Where You Want to Be?
Maybe you have noticed at some point how every time you start a book about a certain subject, you cannot read more than the first five pages. Or you want to take advantage of your free time during the holidays, but you end up doing other things that have nothing to do with your desires. These are some of the signs that can tell you if you are where you want to be in that precise moment.
Everyone has fantasies about how they want their lives to be, but only those who walk along the right side of the path will achieve what they desire. But how can you know if you are really where you want to be? How can you be aware of whether that path is really yours or whether you are wrong? Not finding the answers to these questions tends to carry a high toll.
There are people who start walking down a path without realizing that they are not doing what they really want to do in life. It is almost always the same people who, when they realize it, think it is too late and prefer to stay inside a cage, all the while having the key in their hand so that they can be free.
Complaints are part of your daily language
In order to realize that you have that liberating key in your hand, you will have to identify some signs that you are not where you want to be. These signs are a warning so that you can change your path and start feeling good about yourself. One of these signs is complaining about everything.
If you are not satisfied with your job, your salary, your family, the people you have around you, life, or simply yourself, then it is very likely that you go through your day complaining about everything, including the air you breathe. If you are one of those people who only knows how to talk about the negative side of things, then it is very likely that the only thoughts inside your head are dark and catastrophic ones.
When there is nothing but darkness in your mind, your own thoughts will be acting against you because you will start constructing a reality that you complain about and that you spend your days fleeing from. To start changing things, it is better for you to practice the good habit of being thankful for what you have in life and having a positive attitude in light of whatever you can do nothing for except face it.
You are not enjoying life
In these cases, life can be a sweater: at first sight, it’s cool, but when you put it on, it makes you itchy all over. You like it in some way, because from a certain point of view, yet from every other angle, it is something that causes you anxiety and, in the long term, pain.
Because when you are in the wrong place, when you live in a state of constant yearning, your body – as the place in which our mind functions – also suffers. It is proven that a lack of motivation weakens our defenses and makes us much more vulnerable to illnesses.
On the other hand, working and building up money is really good. Having resources is never something to look down upon, yet you must understand the story of the man who spent years and years saving so that he could face some imaginable unexpected event, and the first unexpected thing that came upon him was death, which had no use at all for his golden coins or colored bills. We must not forget that the best work for conquering success is doing it every day.
“Happiness consists more in the small conveniences of pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life.”
You waste too much time doing unnecessary things
When time is wasted on things that are not necessary, this is another clear sign that something is not going well. Surfing the web for hours without doing anything productive, watching TV series to kill your afternoons, playing video games, smoking, or drinking excessively can also be signs.
Will you enjoy success and fulfillment by doing what you are doing each day? Do you think it really brings you well being or is it the reason why you are gradually getting darker within? Do not allow your light to be drowned out; look for things that really make you feel good.
“Someday, somewhere – anywhere, unfailingly, you’ll find yourself, and that, and only that, can be the happiest or bitterest hour of your life.”
Look for your goals and capture your dreams. Once you start going down the right path and change your habits, your life will start changing for the better. And you will feel so free that you will not need to complain or waste time on things that do not satisfy you!
