Negative Images Inhabiting Your Mind

Last update: 21 April, 2016

Who doesn’t want to look and feel good? Everyone needs to look good, but not in a merely superficial way. We’re talking about looking good, feeling good, and being satisfied with ourselves.

Ask yourself this: Why don’t I feel good about myselfYou might want to look like everyone else, but that’s because you have not yet discovered yourself.

The first step to feeling good about yourself comes from within. From what perspective do you look at yourself? From a place of confidence or insecurity?

Look in the mirror. What do you see? Do not focus solely on your exterior because most times you reflect what is on the inside. Look at the person that you have become, look at whether who you are is a result of yourself or of others.

What happens when you don’t feel comfortable with yourself? This is the result of negative images that unconsciously dwell in your mind without you noticing. To remove them, you should get to know them. Which ones will you identify with?

Get rid of the labels

Labels limit us, although it is true that they are usually necessary. But what about those that discredit us?

Maybe others have told you throughout your life that you weren’t capable, that they didn’t believe in you. They’ve try to make you feel like you have very little value.

This makes you latch onto your weaknesses and keeps you from believing in yourself and trusting that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Think of how it affects you and why you allow it. It is in your power to accept what they tell you or not. Who defines you? The others or yourself?

Do not let anyone tell you how you are. Only you can really define yourself. Start ignoring the words that discredit you today. “You can’t do it, you don’t have the ability” labels you as someone who is incapable. But do you agree? Only you have the answer.

Your security is not dependent on others

Do you feel insecure? Does that security only depend on others? Security must reside within you, you must trust your possibilities.

It is easier to lean on others, but that leaves you helpless when the support, as it inevitably does, disappears. Your security should not depend on others, but rather just on yourself. Do not let others guide you, you should be able to guide yourself toward your goals and your accomplishments in order to achieve the things you want.

Take advantage of all the positive words that they have given you, while leaving behind those that hurt you. Those which frustrate and prevent you from achieving your dreams.

Focus on the positive and start getting to know yourself. Your security should not depend on others, only on yourself. Trust yourself and start achieving your dreams.

Raise your self-esteem

All of the negative images mentioned above haunt us and disturb us, and severely affect our self-esteem. But are you going to allow this?

Our self-esteem is very fragile. Within seconds it can be on the floor. It is therefore important that you take care of it and try to keep it stable.

For starters, you should not allow anyone to harm your self-esteem. And, at the same time, only you can increase it. Because damaging it is very easy. Anyone can do it. But avoiding it and turning it into a self-esteem that is unshakable is in your hands.

Stay away from all these people trying to destroy your self-esteem. You must have confidence in yourself. Value and love yourself.

“We all know that self-esteem comes from what you think about yourself, not what others think of you”

-Gloria Gaynor-

All of these negative images reside in your mind. Perhaps they have been imposed on you since you were little, or maybe you’ve been exposed to them as an adult. Whatever the case, only you can overcome them and remove them from your mind.

You just have to trust yourself and not let anyone destroy your self-esteem. Only within yourself will you find the confidence to break free from all that negativity and follow the path toward your goals. Do not allow yourself to depend on anyone, trust yourself and your possibilities.
