Life is full of surprises and people who revolutionize our lives. Some call these surprises coincidences, while others call them serendipity, synchronization, or even encounters connected by the red thread of fate. However, they all have one thing in common: the mystery of connection. And that’s what I experienced thanks to you.

Now and then I still wonder when it all began. When did you save up some space for me? In which exact moment was the mystery of connection part of our lives? The truth is that, although I don’t know when it all started, being part of the journey is something I enjoy. 

Letting myself go is something I really want to learn how to do. I also want to learn how to send you coded messages only we understand. However, it’s just not easy to disclose what our words can’t explain.

My favorite recurrence

I just don’t know how you do it. You’ve become my favorite recurrence and the engine of my thoughts and smile. Even I can’t explain it with words, but it’s true. I like feeling this way. The best part of all is that you make me feel alive without even having to touch my skin. 

I must confess that you’re winning in this game. It’s impossible to close my eyes and pretend like nothing is happening when my soul touches your soul.

But I have to admit that you’re somewhat secretive and you’re an expert when it comes to avoiding talking about yourself. I don’t care because I like it. Do you know how much I enjoy exploring you?

You are happiness

Are you aware that you have a special ability to connect with others? You’re skillful in the art of listening to their demons and what makes them happy. And not just that, did you know that your sense of humor brightens my days? You’re a revolutionary. With your unexpected strategies, you’re capable of doing magic and drawing smiles. In fact, I started to smile more thanks to you.

Sometimes I think you’re an anchor in the middle of quicksand. Other times, you’re like a surprise that makes everything different. You definitely know how to leave a mark!

I have another secret: I admire you. Because it’s one thing to live the dream and quite another to live to get to know each other, to explore the path of self-discovery, to evolve and become happier people to make others happy. You’re the best example of why we must connect with ourselves. You solved the mystery of connection.

I feel grateful because I met you

I don’t want to finish this without saying thank you for letting me meet you after some failed attempts. I know it’s not your fault, it’s mine.

The truth is that we’re here for one reason or another. Here we are, sending each other coded messages and riddles. At least that’s what I think; I can only speak for myself. Still, I don’t take back anything. If this is all in my head, at least I’m enjoying the journey even though I’ll never reach my destination and this is only a blurred connection.

However, I don’t want to believe that. I want to believe that something caused this hurricane. I want to believe that something exists among your fears and my insecurities and your doubts and my concerns.

Thank you for not closing the door when I was the one knocking. Also, thank you for understanding, for sharing your time with me, for our debates, for your thoughts in the middle of the night, and for your quirks (I’m sure you know what I’m talking about).

Thank you for letting me walk beside you, for creating mental labyrinths for me, and for awakening my strength to find myself. Believe me, it’s not easy to find someone that pushes you to grow. It’s not easy to find someone that makes you see things you weren’t able to see before.

Finally, thank you for being you. You made me believe in the mystery of connection.
