Developing a friendship with yourself is one of the best things you can do because the person who should love you and protect you the most is you. No matter what, you’re the only one who’s going to be with you during the hardest moments of your life.

There’s nothing better in this world than being with a friend. If you become your own best friend, you’ll become the happiest person ever.

Being at peace with oneself is one of the best things a human being can experience. Nowadays, thousands of practices, religions, and drugs promise happiness and inner peace. However, nothing’s better than being your own source of endless satisfaction.

What happens when you develop a friendship with yourself

When Hal Hershfield, a psychologist and University of California professor, asked at a conference who their worst enemy was, most of the audience said themselves.

In this regard, KidsHealth, a nonprofit organization, wrote an article called “Understanding Your Emotionsin which they stated that when it comes to facing negative emotions, the best thing to do is identify and describe them with words in order to significantly reduce their harmful impact. This is best-known as emotional awareness and it’s a skill that allows us to socialize in a less hostile way.

There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing you’ll be able to establish a sincere relationship with yourself, no matter your flaws or the mistakes you make. In reality, having an honest conversation with your own self, looking at yourself in the eye and not lying, and having the courage to say what you actually feel aren’t easy to do if you’re not used to them.

If you talk to yourself honestly and in a calm and understanding way, you might find the perfect balance between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Being coherent with what you think and feel will help you reach inner peace.

Heart in a mirror.

Some people just don’t know why they’re so unsatisfied. They have everything, including material things and affection, but they aren’t in peace with themselves. If you’re at peace with yourself, you’ll be able to establish a sincere and true friendship with yourself and everything else will flow just like a river.

Developing a friendship with yourself isn’t easy and you won’t achieve it overnight. As with all good things in life, it requires effort and long-term planning.

However, it’s worth noting that this comes easily to some people because they understand that being in peace with themselves is the only way to overcome the barriers of hate, resentment, and dissatisfaction.

Developing a friendship with yourself allows you to love other people

We have to mention that developing a friendship with yourself doesn’t mean living isolated, but being able to love others like you love yourself. When you’re in complete balance, loving those around you becomes a lot easier.

Learn to accept and love yourself. If you don’t, it’ll be very hard for everything else to fall into place. When you love yourself and those around you, everything else is easier to figure out.

Developing a friendship with yourself is important.

It’s important for you to respect the feelings and thoughts you have during different situations. Developing a friendship with yourself ensures your well-being beyond any problem that may arise. Life is beautiful when you experience inner love and peace!
