8 Questions to Get to Know Someone Better

When we want to get to know someone better, we usually think of questions that can help us figure out what they like and the way they think. In this article, we share a series of questions you can ask someone when you’re trying to get to know them a little bit better.

For example, if the person tells you they would love to be able to become invisible, that might mean they’re shy. If they tell you they’d like to fly, they probably enjoy freedom. On the other hand, if they tell you they’d like to read minds, that could mean they’re insecure.

This question is great if you want to know someone’s hobbies, passions, and interests. It will also show which one they value the most. That way, we’ll be able to know what activity makes them feel the most accomplished and we could even suggest another one they might like.

This is an excellent question to know what concerns the other person has and what historical characters they have as references and why. This might be a more personal question. However, if you feel comfortable with them, don’t be shy and ask away! This question can allow you to know what they’ve done in life. In addition, it’ll help you figure out if they’re adventurous and rebellious or if they prefer to be in more stable and predictable situations.

5. If you could time-travel, would you go to the past or the future?

This will allow you to delve deeper into the other person’s concerns. For example, if they say they’d prefer to go to Ancient Greece or Rome, they might be interested in world culture. On the other hand, if they say they’d prefer to go to the future, it’s possible that they’re into technological advances.

6. What famous character would you like to be?

The other person’s response to this question will let you know the kind of people they value the most. They could choose an actor, a singer, a famous politician, a scientist, etc. Their response can say a lot about their personality. For example, a shy person would usually prefer to be a writer or a researcher. Someone who’s more extroverted might choose to be a famous singer or actor.

8. What’s your favorite cartoon?

This question can help you figure out what the other person likes. When talking about cartoons, they’ll probably talk to you about what they used to watch during childhood. This will definitely spark an interesting conversation. It will also allow you to know the fictional characters they liked when they were young.

This question can also transform into a conversation about favorite TV shows, movies, and books. You can talk about any interests that you may have, it doesn’t really matter. This question will definitely keep the conversation going and you’ll get to know each other a lot more.
