Quitting on Your Dreams Is Quitting on Life

Quitting on Your Dreams Is Quitting on Life

Last update: 27 December, 2016

We can’t say that dreams are as important as breathing, but a person who believes in nothing, who has no aspirations, goals or objectives, has a serious problem in life and should look into it immediately.

We must never turn our backs on dreaming. And I do not mean the dream world we walk around in while we are sleeping. When we talk about dreams, we are focusing our gaze on what we want with all our hearts and might – those goals and objectives we must never let rest until reaching their achievement.

Dreaming makes life worthwhile

A person who has lost all ability to dream, is a being who has no goals or aspirations to meet. That is to say, they will have serious trouble finding reasons to keep going in life. That’s because our aspirations and the desire to achieve them are a one-of-a-kind and very powerful engine that gives us the focus and strength necessary to move forward.

The possibility of realizing a dream is what makes life interesting.”
-Paulo Coelho

Life without a goal or vision in sight is empty and meaningless. Humans must set goals and achievable dreams to make their journey through the world worthwhile, while also enabling it to be a wonderful experience.

A fulfilling life lies in slowly but surely fulfilling our dreams. Continuously having large goals whose paths are dotted with smaller ones is essential to being happy and staying motivated.

Not everything leads to achieving your dreams

We occasionally begin to think that not everything is vital to making our dreams a reality. We must never confuse freedom with the hackneyed interpretation that the end justifies the means. These are nothing but fallacies. We must always be realistic in order to achieve our dreams. It may seem like a contradiction, but it actually isn’t one at all.

If your dreams are impossible to achieve, you’ll never see them fulfilled. You must not be ethereal or overambitious, because, otherwise, you will only gain frustration at not being able to achieve your goals.

If you believe that dreaming is thinking about the impossible, you’re also wrong. Your goal should not be something unattainable. And in fact, you shouldn’t expect to achieve your goals from one day to the next, either. To avoid becoming frustrated, sprinkle the journey to your dreams with small stops on the way. With more humble and attainable achievements, that when overcome, give you strength to go on, and convince you that you can and will succeed in anything you set your mind to.

Dreams need a good foundation

A very important aspect to following your dreams is setting a good foundation under them. That which is feasible, that which you imagine – you have the power to see it all come true someday. But to do so, you will need strong and powerful foundations.

“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; Now put the foundations under them.”
-George Bernard Shaw

The foundations for achieving your dreams only lie within yourself. You are the person who must believe in your own future. You are the one who must work towards getting that which you crave with all of your might. You have to put all of your cards on the table if you want to reach your ultimate goal.

Life is about dreams

In short, if we are not able to dream and do everything in our power to reach true happiness through meeting and surpassing our own goals, then life loses quite a bit of its meaning. To live fully, to feel fulfilled and to find happiness, you must set goals that you can not only meet, but that will also allow you to move forward.

Dreaming makes us grow and look for the best within ourselves in order to keep working hard and continue becoming a better person every day. We should never steal the meaning away from life. Dreams give us freedom and enable us to be who we truly and authentically wish to be. Only when we have clear and concise objectives and a will of steel to achieve them will we be able to become fulfilled persons.

So never forget to dream, because someone without goals or objectives doesn’t necessarily have everything they want out of life, but do lack the motivation necessary to achieve those things.
