Everybody Can Become a Genius

Everybody Can Become a Genius

Last update: 15 January, 2017

You’ve probably been through a time in your life when you felt lost, because you couldn’t figure out what you wanted to dedicate yourself to, or because you didn’t think you were good enough to do so. Perhaps pressure from society, your family, and even yourself made it difficult for you to find yourself. However, I’m sure that there’s something you feel passionate about, and you might even be a genius at it without even knowing.

Everybody is a genius

Geniuses like Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking felt out of place while they were in school. Their lack of interest led them to feel unsuccessful and misunderstood. Later on, they all discovered that they had something to contribute to the rest of humanity, from the light bulb to the theory of relativity.

Maybe we can’t all think as big as they did, but everybody certainly has something that they feel passionate about, that they can feel in their bones. It’s just a matter of searching for it, giving the most of yourself, and finding it, even if it takes a bit longer than what’s considered “normal.”

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

-Albert Einstein-

If you sometimes feel out of place at your job, in your profession, or even in class, there’s no reason to think that you’re not worth enough. It might just be that it’s not for you. Don’t lose hope and continue to look for what really makes you feel complete, what makes you feel like a genius.

Look for something that makes you feel complete

Being good at something doesn’t mean you stop making an effort. In fact, taking for granted that you’re the best can stall your progress. Remember, there’s no better fuel for motivation than feeling like you’re good at something, but also being aware that you have plenty of room for improvement.

In fact, the reward for dedication and effort is much higher, and the effects much more lasting, than those of being rewarded for something that was easy to do. Maybe that’s the thing to do: enjoy the journey more than the goal.

“An intelligent man is not one with many ideas, but one who knows how to take advantage of the few he has.”

-Anonymous-

When you play the guitar, for example, the result is quite enjoyable, because you feel rewarded for all those years of effort, calluses, and headaches to be able to play the right notes at the right time. That’s why, once you find your passion, it’s best to take advantage of it and give the best of yourself. With creativity, it can become your way of life.

They key is to enjoy yourself

As Confucius said, “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” If you’re aware of this, you’ll realize that work is not a negative thing, especially if you can summon the genius that lives within you. Enjoying the opportunities that you’ve sought after is one of the keys to success. It’s enough to be happy with the result.

Viewing your job negatively usually means you lack one of these factors. That’s no reason to punish yourself, and much less to undervalue your worth. Change your perspective and enjoy what you’re passionate about, because that’s what will make you happy.

“Our reward is in the effort, not the result. Full effort is full victory.”

-Mahatma Gandhi-

If you feel like you still haven’t found that comfortable place in your life, don’t be afraidChange whatever is causing you to view yourself negatively and take the steps you need. You’ll find happiness if that’s what you’re looking for, and you’ll discover your inner genius, just by taking that risk.
